Founded in 2001, Green Manas is a dedicated non-governmental organization (NGO) based in the Baksa District of Assam, working passionately for nature conservation, biodiversity protection, and community empowerment. Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, Green Manas has grown into a trusted name in the field of environmental preservation and sustainable development across Northeast India.
We believe that nature and humanity are deeply connected — and that sustainable progress can only be achieved when communities live in harmony with their environment. Through research, education, eco-tourism, and livelihood programs, we strive to make that harmony a reality.
Since 2001, Green Manas has worked tirelessly to bring together students, teachers, youth, women, and community leaders for meaningful environmental action. From awareness campaigns and biodiversity research to social welfare initiatives, our journey is rooted in empathy, education, and empowerment.
Our projects in and around Manas National Park and the protected areas of Assam have helped restore ecological balance, promote sustainable livelihoods, and preserve the rich cultural heritage of local communities
