At Green Manas, our values reflect our deep connection with nature and our commitment to empowering communities. These principles guide every project we undertake — ensuring harmony between people, wildlife, and the environment.
Green Manas is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 2001 in Baksa District, Assam. We are dedicated to conserving biodiversity, empowering communities, and promoting sustainable development across Northeast India.
Our core objectives include conserving the environment, supporting eco-tourism, creating environmental awareness, empowering rural communities, and promoting traditional cultural heritage and sustainable livelihoods.
Our work is primarily focused in Assam, especially around the Manas landscape and other ecologically sensitive areas of Northeast India.
We empower villagers, women, and youth through education, livelihood training, eco-tourism, and awareness programs that promote both environmental conservation and economic stability.
Yes. Green Manas is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (Reg. No. RS/BAR/237/D/77 of 2001–2002). We are also registered with NITI Aayog, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (CSR00059170), and hold 12A & 80G tax exemptions under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

Our projects include biodiversity research, environmental awareness campaigns, eco-tourism development, livelihood training, and initiatives for social welfare, education, and women empowerment.
Eco-tourism creates income opportunities for local communities while preserving wildlife and natural habitats. It helps people experience nature responsibly, ensuring both conservation and economic growth.
We receive support from donations, CSR collaborations, grants, and community partnerships that align with our goals of sustainable development and ecological preservation.
